I found out today that my account on Sfgate.com has been suspended. today is Memorial Day, Monday 5.27.13. I have used the site for many years to address the issue of gun control and specifically, handguns. I started researching this issue for a school report on guns. It was an English assignment.

At some point I tested the idea of just throwing out the words: I think we should ban handguns.
My paper was focused on the inherently dangerous handgun that is a menace to society, just due to its small size. My argument was not for a complete ban on weapons, but a limitation on handguns only, or high capacity weaponry that might be used in the military.

I used sfgate.com for an outlet for discussion under the name: rfkolbe. I used my real name so I would hold myself to a higher account of my words. I have never liked un-signed notes; I think we should own our words, and it was my intention. I was not trying to achieve notoriety, or at least it was not my primary goal. My goal was a free flow of ideas on the topic. Quite often I got heated responses that were abusive but I decided not to worry about it; it goes with commenting in the public sphere. This all began in 2002 after I had started school at Lake Tahoe Community College. I got an "A" on the paper and my instructor thought my handgun ban idea was reasonable. I was not calling for an all out ban on all guns, just handguns.
that's all for now.
